Mindslayer Win

#1 Post by amuletofyendor »

First off, I want to say this was one of my most horrible runs ever. Two reasons, it was amazingly easy, and most of this run was played while I was half asleep. I've won 11 characters before this, none have been more powerful. Not even any of my archmages. Why? Well, for one, the 4k bump attacks. Well, to be fair, that was only when I critted, which was 85% chance. I defeated Elandar in three game turns. I managed to get the achievement, "overpowered" when I hit a forge giant for an 8k impale. Basically, whenever I put bloodcaller on, and switched on frenzy, I would get 500 hp heals left and right. Now, to the second reason. You might have noticed my seven deaths. Heheh, I'm pretty ashamed, considering I've won a mindslayer on roguelike and that this class is so easy. I woke up in the morning and said to myself, "Hey, how about I try and defeat Atamathon at level 42?" My 4 deaths in a row were derived from a combination of poorly timed bump attacks, sleepiness, and lack of attention to detail, i.e. reflective skin. I also made a few mistakes. One of them was allowing others' opinions to influence what I thought was the best build. Another was that I actually read the mindslayer guide. Not that it's a bad guide, it's just that I tailor chars to my specific play style. Since I was playing on adventure mode, I screwed around a little. I got Exotic Weapons Mastery from a warrior, upgraded it to max, and got Legacy of the Naloren. A free 2-3k damage per turn is nothing to sneeze at. I also didn't go for the traditional antimagic route, because I wanted a shot at Linaniil, which I guess won't be happening anytime soon. As always, reshape weapon/armour is a great skill. However, this brings up a question that should probably be put in the dumb questions section. Say I reshape the blighted maul, and then put it into the items vault. Would it still retain its bonuses?

Sorry my "char dump" is in pictures: the file or folder containing the char dump is nowhere to be found.

Any talent that permanently alters equipment (reshape, imbue or curses) marks the item as unvaultable.
