[1.2.3] Paradox Mage, WINNER normal

#1 Post by achoice »

Finally I got a paradox win: http://te4.org/characters/19211/tome/d6 ... a1c1748753
Again I followed the excellent guide, http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=36080 - thanks.

Probably easiest win I've had. Only 1 early death. I must confess I some on items I've tucked away in my item-vault such as Temporal Augmentation Robe. I basically played as an attack mage using gravity well to keep enemies at bay.

Paradox mages are really fun to play. Heavy hitting offensive spell and Dimension Step is an excellent escape tool. Tactic;
  1. Time Skip is AMAZING. Good damage. Excellent to remove nasty enemies for a several turns. This made bosses AND the end battle almost too easy! Imagine simply removing 1 of the end bosses. (Perhaps bosses should be immune to removal - or teleported instead?)
  2. Rod of Sarrilon is... awsome. Found it mid-game. Used gravity staff(?) before.
  3. I used Gravity well allot to stop enemies getting close.
  4. Dust to Dust on auto cast upon enemy seen, effective & good range. Follow up with Turn Back the Clock (which become great at lvl 4+).
  5. Shield and Nature's Pride auto cast when enemy adjacent. Worked well.
  6. Stop and Slow are also great.
  7. Invested late in Chronomancy / Timeline Threading. Don't really need it, though rethread is a nice extra spell.
  8. Barely used the Clone spells. I managed good without them.
Very seldom had paradox issues. Most battles were quick wins. Otherwise just escape and rest. But at time of winning I was up at 25% ... ouch.
Thanks for a so great game all. Love it.
But now I think I need a break for some weeks... :)

Congrats! It's the only class I haven't unlocked, but I keep hearing that they are fun to play. It sounds like the coming revamp will be as well.
