It worked like a charm. I think he overstated how hard the beginning was. This was the easiest build that I've ever used... practically effortless the entire way. Unfortunately, I couldn't kill Atamathon... bastard killed me four times. The character is still alive and I'm thinking about giving it a couple more tries after I do some farportals to look for fire resist gear that won't kill my crit rate too much.

I'm going to note that Bone Shield is a fantastic skill. I love using it even more than I hate fighting against it.

I really don't understand the damage calculations in this game and I wish it was a bit easier to figure out, especially when making gear choices. No character has illustrated that to me as much as this one. Seemingly minor changes would result in huge damage bursts. That, to me, is the hardest part of this game: knowing how gear and skills will affect damage and defense. I won't say that it's too complex but I will say that the information necessary to make good choices is a bit opaque.
