Well, three or four attempts, I finally won my first roguelike!

I had been alternating between a few characters, but Solipsists remain one of the stronger roles, and by far the most synergistic with Yeeks and their massively quick exp gain, so it was a natural fit. Previously I had died to the Master after getting caught in a meat swarm, once to the overpowered wyrms (I attempted them way too early, having forgotten it was on roguelike), and another time to a pair of rares off a chest when I was dumb enough to stand my ground instead of immediately retreating.
This playthrough was notably different: I ended up with the Eye of the Dreaming One and the Shard of Insanity before (or during) Dreadfell, and then I picked up Aletta's diadem from her ghost. With these three items (and Bloomsoul) I was dealing out far more damage than previous playthroughs, making it much easier to one and two hit mobs, as well as extra Inner Demons for taking down multiple rares simultaneously. I also did a better job of level locking the Master - facing him at lvl 30 is a bit difficult. I wasn't very good about taking advantage of mana clash, which might have made a difference in earlier playthroughs.
The ambush was trivial, and the game only got easier as my powers grew. There were one or two other close calls which were taken care of with either conversion or sudden growth to restore myself to full health, followed by a few more nukes to end things. Prodigies were Mental Tyranny and Eye of the Tiger, which was great with all the extra speed as well as a lucky +20% critical gloves I got off the merchant.
Question: does the Dream Smith line offer anything more than Distortion? Throughout the entire game I could clear large clusters of mobs with Maelstrom/Distortion Bolt and Synaptic Static, with a few Mindsears to finish off the bunch. With Distortion and Psychic Assault, the play style is very much nuking from a distance, with lots of AoE nuke and AoE crowd control. I can't imaging playing a Yeek in the thick of it, but maybe a Thalore or Dwarf solipsist would play better up close.
Also, even with Dream Forge being moved to generics, I felt like I could take the generics I needed. That said, I didn't get Dream Forge until the very end, and even then I gave up a 5th infusion slot for it. Antimagic still seems like an obvious choice, although the generics get spread pretty thin with both Fungus/AM and Dream Forge.
