Mann Smashdong started as a Cornac Berserker; and the idea was to do what I always do with any roleplaying game, and that is to give my first playthrough a try with my signature character to get a feel for the game before trying out the more complicated character classes. That plan does not work so much with this game.
It was a fun ride, albeit a hard one. The game punished me for charging head-on so I had to use what few tactics and abilities I had at my disposal wisely. Particularly, since magic users were such a hassle I ended up joining the Ziguranth and building my character's talents towards shrugging off lots of damage, all while dishing out disgustingly large amounts of pain myself, of course.
I died a few times, much to my horror, but every time I was relieved to see the Eidolon offering to throw me back into the fight. There were also times where I ended up hard-resetting the game before I perished, something I am entirely proud of for the following reason;
I eventually did die. For good. I was making a crowd of frost giants a fine red mist when suddenly a skeleton in the distance got off a lucky shot with his arrows that freeze you in place forever. Then I died. Then the game deleted my character, and autosaved. Now in the 'high scores' in the main menu, I am forever taunted by the recording:
"MANN SMASHDONG the level 18 Cornac Berserker, died on Daikara, killed by a skeleton master archer."
I felt the need to make this thread to emphasize that I had a lot of fun while it lasted. Now, with my character dead and unplayable, making new characters from scratch is an excruciatingly boring grind all while being reminded that I would have to spend another eight-ten hours to get back to where I was previously, and that doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. It's like "No it's okay, I was having fun but since you asked so politely I'll stop."
This is not a complaint thread because I knew what I was getting in to when I started playing, and I don't expect the game devs to change the game to suit my wants. I've played Stone Soup and Dorf Fortress, so I knew what to expect in a roguelike.
So instead lying and saying I never had fun at any point playing this game, I offer some pictures of when I played Two Worlds 2 as Mann Smashdong. That, unlike ToME 4, was a truly awful game.

Goodnight, sweet prince.
