I am currently running my first character to get above level 8, a shaloren archmage and my next step is to enter the Kingdom of Reknor, having completed everything else in the west as far as I can see.

Since ~ level 20 I didn't really have problems, only dieing once in a Dreadfell vault due to confusion, not yet having providence and not having my Wintertide phial equipped.
I currently do 500-800 damage + dot with my fire bombs, making near everything a 1 or 2-hit.
What do you think of my build so far?
Does anybody have suggestions on how to continue skilling this one?
What should i do with my final category point?
May it be that you can encounter The Shade in more than one Dungeon?

That...doesn't link to an archmage?
Unfortunately, you've gotten about as far as I ever have as an alchemist, so any advice I have is mostly theoretical. I remember I had an alchemist who focused on fire alchemy who was pretty powerful. Firestorm was pretty awesome, so points there might be handy.
At least 1 point in armor training is good, for gloves/boots/helms. Mail/Plate is good too, but harder to properly upkeep, since it requires continuous strength investment to wear.
Looks like your bombs are already pretty awesome. More investment into your golem might be a good idea.

You ought to use the Blood of Life as soon as you can. Its extra life lasts until it gets used, there's no point in saving it.
<Ferret> The Spellblaze was like a nuclear disaster apparently: ammo became the "real" currency.

Oops, I was quite tired when I made that post.
I was not clear about the Blood of life, the description is a bit ambigouous.

I have come a little farther, vor pride and armory cleaned and afaik all the side quests in the east, too.
I can easily handle near everything. Fire immunes are a slightly annoying, the creatures from the death room died after 3-4 bombs of mine (700 fire damage w/o crit + 400 from burning, 36% resistance reduction, 56% crit chance). The abiliy of bombs doing damage around corners is invaluable.
now at level 46 I have 9 class and 1 generic point free - and the category point I'll get later.
What should I invest them in?

Re: Shaloren Alchemist (b37)
I just finished the game. High peak was uneventful, last fight was more interesting.
the AOE of the bombs let me ignore the monsters of the portals, I died once due to being stunned and flameshocked and thus not able to recover.
