I finished my first successful playthrough of the base game (after some embarrassing deaths) I wanted to say thank you to our benevolent and all powerful master DarkGod (and anyone else who has contributed along the way) for all the hard work you have clearly put into crafting this work of art.
I've never really played anything that fits this genre, but what caught my attention from the review was how much care has been poured into the game. Most recent games seem to lack a soul, but immediately after starting the game I could feel the character of ToME grinning deviously back at me while I played, egging me on to my next mistake while secretly hoping for a success.
Before I bought the base game I talked myself out of buying the expansions because I wasnt expecting to get a whole lot of value out of a 14 year old game, but after playing it for a week, I have added the expansions to my steam cart and am just waiting for my next pay cheque!
Looking forward to many more embarrassing deaths and hopefully another winner or two in the future
