Memory Leaks and Temporary Zones

#1 Post by edge2054 »

I've been working on optimizing the Warden cloning code and managed to get halfway through High Peak without any noticeable slow down. I had my game on adventurer and managed to run into a rare that could kill me through semi-god mode. I popped into the Eidolon plane and upon returning to the base level the game was practically unplayable.

Rebooting helped but the game performance was still much slower than it had been.

I've had a similar report from someone who was dreamscapped while playing a warden and the bit of testing I did indicated that entities slated for garbage collection when a temporary zone change happens don't get garbage collected at all.

I may be wrong about all of this. But I know late game memory leaks have been an issue we've been dealing with for a long time. Personally I didn't encounter any on my last playthrough but I didn't get fearscapped, dreamscapped, or go to the eidolon plane.

Anyway figured I'd park this here. Hope it's not a red herring.
