[b41] game hangs on startup, black screen

Hi, just trying to install this on my old laptop and it's being very stubborn about working.

My hardware is a bit old, dual core intel 32-bit. ATI-Mobility 1800 (dedicated VRAM). Windows Vista.

When i try to boot the game the initial loading bar gets to somewhere between 65 and 88%, changes every time. If i leave it for about 5-10 minutes i see a black screen with specs of graphics here and there, and a "generating level" bar that sits in the middle and will not move no matter how long i leave it.

Game doesn't seem to be hogging resources, but i do have to force a shutdown to close it.

Anyone else have this problem or have any clues that might get me to the bottom of this? I'm stumped.

I've had this exact same problem with very similar setup, laptop with ATI card. Latest drivers installed and OpenGL 2.1 apparently working
