EoR final fight
Seriously, what's wrong with whoever coded that?
Thing keeps teleporting me when I'm nowhere near the exit. That high priest on the other hand is free to roam the corners i may not.
Healing salve reliably pulls me out of stealth, it never did that before, so now i can only use it when shadow dance is off CD.
Other than that I have NO idea about the significance of slumbering body parts, it's just a big mess.
Most frustrating fight ever.
Any idea how to get that priest reliably into range of my throwing knives? LoS doesn't seem to do the trick.

Re: EoR final fight
I thought that was the intended behavior? Either way, the final boss is a real tough cookie. Just avoid the god parts and don't use any teleports or movements towards the exit. The boss also has spine of the world, so poisons will do little to it even with mystical cunning. It also heals to full a few times before going down if I remember right.Fela wrote:Healing salve reliably pulls me out of stealth, it never did that before, so now i can only use it when shadow dance is off CD.
Re: EoR final fight
The High Priest has 3 full heals, when going below 75%, 50% and 10% (iirc) life for the first time.
Every full heal he gets new abilities.
He has Spine of the World, so pretty much every physical debuff is useless.
The mouth is the god part that tp's you if you get more than 15 tiles from it, so a good solution is to move it so you can fight wherever you want, mostly out of sight of the other god parts that debuff you and summon mobs.
Healing salve takes a turn and so always pulls you out of stealth, unlike every other salves since the others are instant. Healing salve is extremely bad compared to the others salves, you should NOT be using it in the first place.

I write guides and make addons too now, apparently
You can go here for a compilation of everything I wrote, plus some other important stuff!
Includes general guides (inscriptions, zone, prodigies), and class guides (Demo, Anorithil, Bulwark, Zerker, Sblade)

Re: EoR final fight
I didn't use healing salve a lot before this fight, which is probably why I thought it behaves like the other salves.
Unfortunately I do need to use it now and then to survive here, as not a lot of healing is incoming from the measly poison damage to counter the AoE damage that largely ignores my stealth. (I suspect the AI is coded to aim roughly in my direction even if it has no idea where i am)
Did the healing thresholds reset when i died?
Is there a rhythm to what the god parts do? If I could get them to summon a lot of stuff and do less of their obnoxious AoE stuff I might actually be better off.

Re: EoR final fight
Also, what did you mean to 'move it' (the mouth)? I'm a rogue, no unfriendly teleport for me.
Re: EoR final fight
Rogues have grappling hook in artifice.
You are also in EoR so you have access to tinker, so you have access to spring grapple.
That's two ways already.
Edit (missed the previous post) :
the cleanse salves all give affinity, fungal web tinker heals you on every salve use.
the treshold did not reset.
iirc the god part randomly awaken without specific order. if until that point you were relying on poison to heal, then i'd say keeping the god part that summon (the hand ?) in view wouldn't be so bad, more target = more healing and they aren't really dangerous.
a link to the char sheet might help give more specific advice

Re: EoR final fight
I'm pretty sure that Spring Grapple breaks stealth, I don't have the steam power generation to use it reliably anyway.
Besides it's range 6, throwing knives are 7 and that's already a problem. Admittedly part of the problem is travel time.
Didn't unlock artifact, as I already had tinkers.
Staying near the hand is actually quite survivable, unfortunately the priest pretty much stays out of my sight there.

Re: EoR final fight
I actually managed to teleport-herd him into the hand's corner and keep there long enough with poison on hand, mouth and the occasional tentacle.
After a while a bit of wild teleporting confusion happened and in the end I apparently had killed him - though i have no idea how. Damage in the combat log doesn't seem to match my expectations.

Re: EoR final fight
i mean, you'd only have to grapple it once or maybe twice to be able to fight in the corridor, out of view of the god parts, and you have enough steam for 5 uses.
and there are several artifacts that let you regen steam
breaking stealth is not an issue, you're gonna break stealth by fighting anyway ? relying solely on TK is NOT a good idea, you're basically shooting yourself in the foot.
rogue tools should be your first cat point imo, it has nothing to do with having tinkers or not

Re: EoR final fight
He's most likely playing the throwing knives build by graystillplays on the forum which uses them to stay stealthed indefinitely. I like it quite a bit, but I don't think it works quite as well in EoR especially due to the final boss. He probably should have droped scoundrel for artifice though.Cathbald wrote:i mean, you'd only have to grapple it once or maybe twice to be able to fight in the corridor, out of view of the god parts, and you have enough steam for 5 uses.

Re: EoR final fight
Yeah, wanted to try out that build. It's nice and actually worked better for that encounter once i realized that the body parts are actually way less dangerous than I had thought.
I feel like I wasn't too lucky with item drops, especially for nature pen and damage, else the build would probably have worked out even better.
