Legacy of the Naloren?

#1 Post by blargplean »

I got quite a few questions about this prodigy!

How do you get it? I have looked around and cant find out who I talked to or who I kill to get it!

And is it worth it? What good exotic weapons are there? Can you make exotic for 4k gold?

To get the most of the prodigy , you need :

In early game, find a Warrior escort, manage to save him and as a reward choose the Exotic Weapon mastery, that will be added into the Combat Training tree (if you don't have that tree, go buy it in some of the shops in Last Hope)

You can then put more points into it to max it ( 5 skills) .

Later when you go to the East, you will need to walk around water/sea place, so the Flooded Cave dungeon will suddenly spawn there.

Once it has spawned, go into it and after fighting the monsters in there find the stairs, it will lead you in a level in which the monsters aren't hostile and there's a water dragon named Ukllmswwik (i guess someone just fell on his keyboard when trying to invent that dragon's name :D ) to which you can talk.

Don't attack him, but simply say you're sorry to disturb him and you're going to leave, the water dragon will ask you to go kill Slasul if you're interested in saving the world, Slasul being the leader of all nagas (the ex Naloren folks) in the Temple of Creation.

Accept and jump into the portal the Dragon created, battle your way to the entrance against dangerous nagas, then battle your way into a long cavernous level against even more nagas.
And finally enter the Temple of Creation, and guess what .. battle your way again with dangerous nagas.

Until you reach the central room in which Slasul is waiting, go and talk to him.
With the dialogue you now need to side with Slasul, not fight against him.

Go back to the dragon and kill him for some loot.

The prodigy " Legacy of the Naloren " will become available to your character.
Before taking it, it's important that you have maxed Exotic Weapon mastery to 5 , because the prodigy will give you another 5 levels of skills into it, making the mastery much much better.

Then, go back to talk to Slasul after getting that prodigy, and he will give you the following trident :

A few tips:

Make sure you don't blindly chuck any AoEs into the final room of the Temple of Creation. If you injure Slasul before talking with him, you will be forced to kill him, and the prodigy will be irrevocably lost (there are actually a few tricks that let you talk with him after he's hostile, but nothing you can rely on, particularly if you want to keep him alive long enough to get the Trident).

It's not necessary to have Exotic Weapons Mastery beforehand, but it's a really nice bonus if you can manage it. It's possible to use generic point juggling (you can unlearn the last three generic points you've spent by right-clicking the talent) to always ensure you can take out your investment in Weapons Mastery until you get a lost warrior.

Exotic weapons are very rare. Tridents are almost exclusively used by nagas, and, outside of a couple of artifacts, cannot be acquired except by killing nagas. Nagas, meanwhile, aren't guaranteed except in the Temple of Creation. Whips, meanwhile, don't exist at all outside of the six artifact whips (none of which are guaranteed to drop). In general, somebody investing in Exotic Weapons is doing so with the intention of getting the prodigy and its namesake trident. It's not worth it if you don't want two-handed weapons.

Nope. Exotic weapons are exotic. The Lost Merchant can't make them. If you take the prodigy, you're pretty much stuck with Slasul's artifact.
