For the 1st time since i play ToME4 , while my Yeek Alchemist was moving to Daikara, a bit before the entrance of the dungeon i ran into this odd dialogue






I gave it the troll intestines and then


huh ?

As it's the 1st time i see that, i would really like to not screwup whatever it is, so what must i do to get the continuation of it (assuming there's really a continuation and that mini-event is not unfinished) ?

I don't see anything unusual in my fortress.
As i am not yet there, do i need to unlock the training room or the farportal one ?

followup : i transmogrified a bunch of low level gems (they have high value so provide lots of energy) and unlocked the farportal room, defeated the monster that spawned there, left the fortress and came back to see :




So yes to reply to my question, you need to unlock the farportal room before this happens.

Is there anything else that can be done , or is it the same as with Melinda once she move in, they're simply there and that's it ?

Nothing to my experience.
I tried to kill him to see if ToME is as touchy about cats as adom, but nothing happened. Nothing, he even got no damage and, hence, no protests from the cat protection leagues...

Thanks for confirming so i don't waste time trying to find something to do to advance a quest that does not exist

The cat is, indeed, invincible (though, funnily enough, if you check the source code, you can see that he's got nine lives).

To my own surprise (as my Yeek is really squishy) i managed to save Melinda from the crypt

I hope to see if there was some additional dialogue with Melinda and the cat, but nothing more unfortunately



Oh well, at least the place is a bit more lively.

The kitty is currently just for show. No function at all. Melinda in your fortress is also just fluff. That said, DG may choose to push some kind of story on it later on, of course.

Back on topic, I really liked the cat thing even though it didn't serve any real purpose, though I'm preeetty sure DG as a known cat lover has something planned for it

I noticed if you stand next to a traing dummy with the cat next to you after a while he joins in and starts hitting it too. No benefit just funny to see ^^
