Any Extended Endgame?

#1 Post by Camcolit »

Hi, just had my first win  . http://te4.org/characters/42112/tome/05 ... 8119563cb4. Awesome roguelike, coming from DCSC there is a lot to admire, and though I love Crawl the class system here is far superior.

Question about playing on after the win - I see on the win screen it mentions that the Grand Corrupter has taken over Evala and has 'plans' or something, but when I go there I can't find anything different about the city or the GC hanging around anywhere. Is this a reference to something that will be added later or are there some optional quests to do here/elsewhere? How about that void portal in high peak, can I enter it?

Thanks a lot.

Go find the Ruined Dungeon and go down the stairs in back.

Thanks, so the ruined dungeon is it? That's ok, looking forward to some more post-win content though and to tie up some loose ends. Corruptor/AssassinLord/SherTul etc.

High peak was a little bit of a letdown, but mainly due to the great storyline up until then. The story of the orcs is great, but the sorcerors don't have much of an entrance. The character really doesn't know anything about them, even after he kills them, and they are not in the story arc much at all. Bit disappointing for final bosses. I was waiting for some twist like the SherTul survived or there was some demon scheming or whatever. Was looking forward to reading some cool lore in High Peak to tie up the story and give some background on the final bosses but there was nothing. Just 10 levels of grinding uninteresting enemies who at that stage were no threat, and then the bosses were anonymous pushovers. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, just some hopefully constructive criticism.

you can increase difficulty if the game is too easy
i think the complain is for a longer game, or a game where there are more things.
I read somewhere darklord is doing (or planning to) the orc version of the story (meaning playing orc)
Shertul could be a great idea for extending the game, but i guess will die of old age before that comes true.. :(

Well he seems to be doing an excellent job generally.

Well, about that... Let's just say that there was a very nice and related update today. Can't wait to see the next updates.
