Killing the living Sher'Tul

#1 Post by Ivels »

After jumping into the Far Portal for the first time, my alchemist got transported to another Sher'Tul fortress with a very intimidating-looking neutral alien. With the pain of overpowered technicolor wyrm vault still fresh in my mind, I didn't do anything silly like attempting to attack the thing, but it looked an awful lot like a potential extra boss.

Is it actually possible to defeat this 24,000 hp, 100% resist all monster?

I didn't get a look at its talents, but I'm sure they are very impressive.

What, you've never gotten the "Yeah, Uh-Huh, You Totally Cheated" achievement where you kill the Sher'Tul with a level 1 Yeek Brawler? :)

Fairly sure he's flagged as invulnerable.

He's much like the Eidolon, in that he's got a high level but nothing really beneath all that. I believe the idea is that the game's just saying "He's really freaking powerful" and not bothering to go into the specifics. Oh, and he's flagged as invincible, so there's that.

Oh well. It did occur to me that he had 100% resistall which I'm guessing isn't affected by resist penetrations. I was playing on roguelike, so that theory went untested, though :P

It's a shame. His fleshy sac would've made a nice trophy.

he's only coded to have 70% resist all, but he has more than that because bosses get extra res all based on level.

Beyond that, though, he has invulnerable=1 set.

Wait, you can actually fight it? Only time I've entered his fortress it pretty much told me to f off as I openend the door, drained 90%+ of my remaining life and tele'd me outta there.
