Greetings fellow warriors. Is there a recommended progression order for the far east? Recommended player level? I am consistently reaching the east with many of my characters around level 30, only to be splatted. Any tips from pros?
I have scanned these forums looking for help, but have been finding information fairly limited. Any info would be welcome. Currently rolling with a skeleton archer if you have any class/race specific nuggets of info gold.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Far East Guide? Recommended levels and progression?

Do the Spiders first, then the Vor Armory (but don't open the room of death), then Briagh's Lair, so you can return to Maj'Eyal. Then pick up the "backup bosses" from all of the old zones, before doing Tannen's quest (I think that's what it's called, assuming the plot hasn't changed since I last survived this long) and back to the East.
Once you return to the East the second time, then it's time to buckle down and start on those Orc Prides. The order in which you do those will depend on your character's strengths and weaknesses vs. the kind of monsters in each one.

I haven't gotten that far, what are the "backup bosses"? Or do you just mean ones you skipped?
Re: Far East Guide? Recommended levels and progression?
The backup bosses are new bosses placed in several zones after returning from the East.
Die early, die often.

Ardhungol(the spider place)->wander around the seaside until you get the sunken cave, do the Sunken Temple by allying with the turtle->Vor Armory->Orc Breeding Pits->Briagh's Place->go back west and do the backups->Prides.
Orc Pits can be done before or after going back, they're good either way-the main risk to finding them early is that you have to deal with orc patrols to find them.

Awesome! Thanks everyone for the info. I have 11 ascensions in DCSS, but have yet to make it through this game once.
I feel my time is growing near. Thanks again and happy hunting!

I always look for the orc breeding pit right after doing the spiders. I don't know how it generates, and maybe I'm just always lucky here, but I tend to find it almost right away in the southern desert-looking area. To me, it's good to do this one early because it's not high difficulty, I always find good items there, and I'm under the impression that it reduces the amount of orc patrols wandering the map.
After that, pretty much what greycat said.
