Prox's lucky halfling foot twitchs alerting him to a trap. Doesn't seem to stop him walking straight into them.

Why should it? The halfling foot merely indicates the presence of a trap, not its location; and Prox is probably too preoccupied with chasing the player character to systematically search for it.
