It seems useless to me. It seems to me that it enables you to take a non-magical item and imbue it to make it a magical item that's less powerful than the magical items you'll find as loot.
It can't be that pointless, so I must be missing something.
What am I missing about imbue?

It works on anything, not just non-magical items.
Add +10% resist all to your late-game platemail? Yesplease.

Ah, so that's what I was missing about it.
I was sure that when I tried imbue out, only non-magical items appeared in the list of things that could be imbued.
Ah, I think I see my mistake. I was checking it with the jeweller in Angolwen and assuming that the player imbue ability had the same restriction.

Remember that you have to take off your armour to imbue it.
