Can't refit Golem because of negative regen

Yeah... I probably gave him an "insatiable" weapon, giving him a negative regeneration. The result is that I can't refit him anymore (inluding that damned weapon) cause every "refit golem" results in a repair -.- (his hp dropped below max before the skill is ready again).
Is there any workaround?

Don't use -hp regen items on your golem.

Ctrl+tab to switch to the golem (I think) or click on his portrait to control him directly, then unequip the weapon.
