Does this imply you only get escorts in your own starting dungeons?

If so, could a slightly dodgey tactic be to begin by exiting to the world map and doing another race's starting dungeon first. That way you're a little higher levelled and can kill quicker by the time you tackle the escort quests?

Yeeks and dwarves get escort quests in Trollmire/Kor'pul, probably because they both have one dungeon that is unsuited for escorts. The same is probably true for the undead. Combined with Yeek's leveling bonus, my Mindslayer was able to rescue nearly every escort.
