I love the DF build, and thanks to those who have posted on the wiki about it.
Now, my questions:
- would you run the Hymn of Perseverance, precise strikes and shield wall all at once, or does that take away too much stamina?
- there'll be more as I play
Hymns, Chants, the Premonition spell don't consume stamina, so you should always sustain them.
Shield Wall should also be maxed and sustained as soon as possible. I usually don't use Precise Strikes in the early part of the game.
Precise Strikes - is it worth it? The reduced weapon speed really seems like it would sting - it doesn't even seem like it's guaranteed to increase (rather than decrease) your damage output over time.
Precise Strikes in particular I don't really find useful at all for any class/character build - EXCEPT for a criting style rogue. The increase in atk/crit along with the naturally high crit chance of rogues will make sure both weapons hit and crit 100% of the time [though I'm sure you can do that without PS anyway].
You will want 1 point in PS though - just to open Rush. Rush you might as well raise to tlvl 5, just because there aren't all that many good class points to push in - and that Rush range [atleast it used to I believe] increases with tlvl.
And yes, clvl 4 - you best start dumping all the points you can into SW.
As you have read the DF build guide, any suggestions on making it better?
I have noticed an increase in hits when I use precise strikes, but I'm most indebted to the guide for it's emphasis on shield skills.
I was playing my DF like a berserker - two handed weapons and all. I didn't get the whole shield deal.
Now, if I could only get past the Sandworm Lair and Daikara dungeons!!
I dont find precise strikes that useful for a fighter. Archers and berserkers I love precise strikes on, but, I just never really find a use on my fighter for that talent even after 10+ levels under my belt, other things I would rather use my stamina on. Call me crazy, but on my zerker I use precise strikes more than the "berserker" talent.
You WILL want to use Berserk now as it grants stun and [pin?] res - and a good amount of it too. A Ghoul Berserker with be naturally immune to stuns after about level 7 - faster than a fighter.
