Am I going to enter mount doom here?

My archmage is progressing in the far east. I killed one of the orc bosses. Now suddenly, I am standing on the portal to mount doom? My character is lvl 21 with just below 500hp. My main aoe spells are fire based, and I have no rings of invisibility. If I would not be spoiled, then I would run into a certain death. This just doesn't seem right. The game should give some kind of indication what awaits you.

I know the name mount doom spells trouble, but it might just be a cool name so players have no idea what to expect here.
Once you go to the east, you cant go back?

The character is dead now (YASD - yet another sad death). He died wile getting one of the orbs. I pressed '5' a few times and died, I think the game was lagging because I see no stun.
On several levels the game was really buggy, I had to do every action twice for it to work, even loosing one turn when I do.

Try going to the weapon store in Minas Tirith when you have more than 50 gold. :wink:

Please send me the logs (stdout.txt) before restarting if you have not yet.
Generally when something strange happens (like the lag) save the log

I have no idea where to find it, I search the main folder and my user data folder (ubuntu). I already quit the game so maybe that is why.

Oh yeh, but can you get there from the east, then I know I have to do that first next time.

The boots from the dragon don't need heavy armor training...

Nope, but the minotaur helm does.
The real benefit comes from health tho, even getting 2/5 at 32 con gives +80 hp (+the bonus from con) and is worth it.

I uploaded a save file that is buggy. Im at the top level of the spider cave, and I have to press the same button several times just to get moving Resting does not seem to work. Maybe you can download it and have a look.
