Do you need to get killed by a specific skeleton? Do you need special race/class combo? Is there an xp/level requirement like in ADOM (when you unlock the bug temple)?
Well just asking because I've been using a char to get killed over and over by skeletons and it's now the 100th death and still no skeleton race unlocked...

No, any skeletons do, but higher rank/level increases the odds

If you to Tol Falas, that really helps. Ghouls are harder than skellies to unlock. Skellies I got pretty easily down there.

When I unlocked a ghoul, I got it from a disease that killed me on the wilderness map. I was pretty happy when it finally happened. It took around 20 ghoul deaths to unlock.

The odds for ghoul unlocking and skeleton unlocking is the same...

So the trick would be to get a "Master" or "Boss" or "Elite" or one of those ghouls, they'll up your odds significantly.
Ghouls look pretty useful to unlock! I haven't done that yet, but a stun ability and extra con is awesome.
