Confidence in the belt itself. It's in memory of someone who's shields failed, and it makes a shield. It's sort of like a doctor giving you an immunization while telling you a story about someone who died because of this vaccine.

Doesn't decrease any confidence I have in Linaniil. Considered she's the one that managed to kill my character who killed Atamathon, I can safely say I have every confidence in her abilities. And a pretty good stock of confidence in her character. The only thing I don't really have confidence in her is her taste. The god she ate must have been millenia old, possibly dozens of them, and she still just nommed it up. Maybe magic killed her taste buds.
