Looking at it, I see your point. That error just shows an error. However, my damage is resetting. This is a level 7 character with 10k damage done. There's no way my level 8 flaming wizard character did only 400 fire damage.

Yep, just killed that character in a vault and the damage reset to 248 done total (where it should be 15k or so just for that character.

I just checked my progress so-far, and the inflicted damage is still stored (231000 by a level 31 archmage that died recently).

It's definitely resetting at some point.

I was at 13k fire yesterday with a lvl 14 archmage. He was the successor of a lvl 43 SB that went for fire and ice weapons early (still alive but dormant), 2 lvl 20something sun paladins that used fire beam a lot, als on mass hatchling spawns in CD and my 3 more archmages who used fire whenever convenient.

So not making sense at all and i strongly suspect it's reset somewhere at birth.

Btw, it's also possible to get the information without going into cheat mode:

In your main savegames folder there is a world.teae (don't nail me on the suffix, can't check this right now) file.
It's basically an archive and 7zip (possibly others too, but 7zip is good and free, so i'm using it anyway) can open it.
There's a file named 'main' in there, which despite having no suffix is just a text file.
Extract, open with wordpad and search for pyromancer/cryomancer.
There's a line with 'nb' and the number there is your accumulated damage.

It's also possible to edit the file within 7zip :) (I got kindof annoyed when i realized the number was reset and set it to 1 spell before 2 mio)

Highlight to spoil yourself :).

Ahhh found it! And fixed!

The current count was not saved if you died and exited, but it was saved if you well, saved the game.
Sorry about that. As a gesture (and because 2million is a lot) I have reduced the amount needed to 1M5 :)

I would like to have edited mine to reflect what it should show, but 7zip is doing nothing for me. Just a quick open and close.

ugh - so I think I fried my file somehow by attempting to put in the "right" number of pyro damage and humanoid kills :D

tome now hangs when loading the module. I'm assuming it's looking at the world.teaw file and not liking what it sees. does anything look blaringly bad in the below that i can try to fix to get the game working again? I know I know i should have backed up the file first!

What did you use to edit the file? Since you posted it autowrapped that might be the problem, because the lines don't wrap in standard editor.

Since I can't seem to find it answered elsewhere, I'll lay it out here. I guess the spoiler forum is the best spot to put it...

I want to try the unlockable classes. I sincerely do not want to spend the next few days/weeks slamming my head against T4's difficultly level trying to get to the point of unlocking them naturally. I'd rather not memory edit up a cheat-monkey of infinite doom, either -- the process of isolating important variables is annoyingly tedious, and I'd rather be actually playing the game.

Honestly, I just don't like unlockables as a general concept -- I understand why some people do, but it's just not my thing. I want full access to game content without having to jump through hoops and I'm perfectly willing to 'cheat' to get it.

So. Is there a quick way to just unlock the whole lot of the things? A file to edit, command to stick into the lua console, or so forth? A straightforward step-by-step thing on how to do it would be a bloody godsend. Thanks in advance

I believe it's also NOT saved if you use Ctrl-X (Save-and-Exit). It only appears to be saved when you use Ctrl-S (Save-without-Exit). Beta12.
