They're both completely different types of shield, so they will stack.

Your skeleton's racial shield won't stack with other Damage Shields (such as Light/Barrier or shielding runes), but any other defensive buffs are fair game.

My skelly reaver is currently at level 21 with zero deaths and doing really well. Just finished Urkis. Had an "oh shit" moment when I opened a door because I thought he would be an a lower level. No matter, bone crab and then between bone shield, bone armour and shielding rune I'm not sure he got a single hit in.

And oh yeah, got the light tree from an escort. Goes pretty nicely with reavers eventhough I don't have the generic talent points to fully take advantage of it -yet.
