S'pretty small question, but I'd like some input before I chunk half my bank into a single item.
I've got an 18th level Skeleton Tempest staring at the ring Elemental Fury. My current setup is a pair of onyx rings. Would the 10% boost to lightning and arcane (basically my only two damage types) be worth losing +3 to all stats?
Character's already got +33% to lightning damage, but no arcane boosters. Opinions? My inclination is to stick with the onyx rings, since it lets me avoid putting (as many) points into non-core (Mag, Will, Con) stats, but the Fury is a set unique...

I would keep using the stat ring. You are losing 3 MAG as well which will cut your damage output some -- although probably your spells do a touch more damage with EF. The extra 15 HP and mana (from CON and WIL) make up for the tiny loss in damage IMO. EF is really underpowered now.
Re: Lil'advice?
S'basically what I ended up doing. I was kinda' saddened that a 200 gold ring was so puny, especially when the onyx cost all of 48 gold to make.
Oh well. Thanks for th'chime in.

The +damage also applies to spells? Somehow I always thought that those extra +dam rings were only boosting melee damage...
Re: Lil'advice?
+%, yes. I know I left the % out above, but I tend to do that when the context is/should be obvious.
Was talking about the boost from elemental fury, which uses percentile boosts, so speaking of related bonuses would be of the same type.
The base +X is generally melee. It'd say (on hit) specifically, or something like that. I think I've seen one where it was +X on ranged, though. No idea if that'd boost spell damage.

+10% fire refers to ANY method you (or your summoned critters) use to inflict fire damage. That could be Flame spells, or Firebeam spells, or a scorching lantern's retaliation damage when monsters hit you, etc.PowerWyrm wrote:The +damage also applies to spells? Elemental Fury is +10% arcane, +10% fire, +10% lightning, +10% cold, +10% acid, and maybe one or two others. Not +10% physical. Melee characters will say "meh" and probably sell it.

Re: Lil'advice?
Unless ofcourse they have some way to generate a damage of that specific type, such as Fiery Hands for ABs.
But yes, if something gives a +x% to ANYTHING, it effects all sources of that, weather it be spells/chants/melee project/damage on hit/whatever.
