Hmm, on going to the little door in Minas Tirith I get the option to say "I found this staff but was too afraid to use it" - um, that's not true :P

If I speak to them do I lose my pretty staff? I fought hard for this baby, and have no intentions of giving it over to a bunch of grubby mortals.

I think I'll go check out those elven ruins instead. Anything worth videoing in there...?

Heh, I now get what you mean. Wasn't too exciting a fight - just because I can't see him doesn't mean I can't burn him good!

Cool to see Ringil at last, even if it's not a great deal of use to me.

Hmm, quick question - I finally relented to handing over my precious staff, and got a little mention of a token of reward for beating the orcs. But I can't see that I've actually had anything added to my inventory... Am I missing something?

Edit: I finally made it to the Far East! Woohoo! Now where can I kill stuff? :P

Find the town...off the east-south east (past the glowing blue mountain) and as far east as you can go. There is a mountain a little different from the rest in the mountain range, just north of the middle...find it and head in there. The lady in charge will give you some directions and things to kill.

Also....congrats and I've never seen any reward, only the mention of one. I guess the reward is a chance to kill nice strong baddies in big open spaces. :)

Well, I finally died, after what was quite a fun run. I probability transported into a room of orcish high pyromancers in the Vor Armoury. Not having faced high pyromancers before I wasn't too scared, and was hit by about 8 fireballs at once whilst casting Sense and Vision... In retrospect I shouldn't have PT'd in - opening the doorway would have given me safer crowd control. I also had several fire resistance items that I could have been wearing. I suppose I got cocky after all my successes with this character. I've unlocked 4 new classes and gotten a bunch of new achievements - not a bad run for my first Archmage.

opening the doorway would have given me safer crowd control.
I've found the doorways in the armoury are not that much better, I think most of the enemies can still see the doorway.....

Going through the wall wasn't Grey the Archmage's problem - it was then casting Sense and Vision, lighting a fag and unpacking his tuna sandwiches. Agree that opening the door can be a nasty moment but a mage can usually arrange to do it from several grids away, if nobody comes piling out to see what the loud noise was then fling in their favourite scoosh to clear the entrance.

I think I got into the habit of over-relying on Sense and Vision. Since the area was all vault walls I felt the need to find out what was around me before trying to kill everything. Didn't expect so much damage in one turn, but I obviously should have been more careful.

In retrospect my best possible action would have been to cast Illuminate upon entering the room, and then happily burn all the fools to a crisp. Ah, the benefits of hindsight...

Don't even cast illuminate...I think you were lucky getting two to three turns in that room the first time, cast inferno and PT out of there.....they'll walk to where you were.
