Most people's monitors are wider than they are tall, so you could help the LOS issue by making Mt Doom left-to-right instead of top-to-bottom :-)

100% agreement here.

The timer is actually pretty evil if you're not aware of the need to bring healing potions, btw - i barely made it with my shadow blade after i noticed how quickly 200 turns ticked away when resting :)

Just made it through Mt Doom with a summoner ... Basic strategy: don't fight anything, just use turtles to distract the monsters and keep running. I used slime roots a couple of times to get out of trouble and advance. Only just had enough healing potions. Minotaur/golem/warhound did a pretty good job of bringing down the boss. Equilibrium at the end near 90, I think.
