They get four egos instead of three, which makes a BIG difference.
I've been playing for years but only figured this out yesterday, lol.
The stats seem slightly higher, but it's hard to tell. It's the extra ego that makes all the difference.

Re: Merchant Artifacts are better than randarts
should be working as intended due to them being in such a conserved quantity
they'll also have better stats than, iirc, anything not from high peak/slime tunnels/sludgenest unique+ due to having stats the equivalent of a level 75 randart

Re: Merchant Artifacts are better than randarts
I've heard it claimed that the randart just rolls the max possible values, but ster is pretty much right, according to the relevant code it appears to be a lv70 randart with 4 egos

Yes, that's right. I didn't know objects had levels until I looked into this. I thought there was only the five base materials. It would be cool to have the object level indicated in the tool tip.Tryble wrote:I've heard it claimed that the randart just rolls the max possible values, but ster is pretty much right, according to the relevant code it appears to be a lv70 randart with 4 egos
Darkgod? Could this be done?

It is correct that items generate using the area level.
It would however be useless to see the level an item was generated at, as it is just a weighting on the strength of the properties, which are still RNGed.

My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.

I think this is fine. I would just like to see some incentive to side with the assassin, to make an opportunity cost. Maybe he could give you a quest to go to some other zone with some kind of powerful reward. It would need to be something worth taking over 3+ merchant randarts, at least for some characters.
Re: Merchant Artifacts are better than randarts
My idea is 3 ego randart but you get to pick an ego for 5k gold or so. Probably way too good though since you can get guaranteed Warmaking, Dragon, or other great egos.Effigy wrote:I think this is fine. My dream is double "of quickening" digger + double "of spellbinding" boots. But they're so rare...Probably way too good though since you can get guaranteed Warmaking, Dragon, or other great egos.
Re: Merchant Artifacts are better than randarts
I once got double cripple on gloves, and I had Flexible Combat prodigy. 40% cripple rate
I've never seen double alacrity on light armour - that would be beautiful.
