Re: Odyssey of The Summoner: Spoiler and Discussion
...do drakelings get stat points to distribute? Because this arrow mark is driving me bonkers (As is their puny stats. I don't want to kill them to make them stronger!)
Re: Odyssey of The Summoner: Spoiler and Discussion
@Rutee
Drakelings level up automatically. It's strange that their points aren't being distributed... Their stats shouldn't be very low (especially since they get 4 points per level instead of 3).
Do you have any other add-ons active at the moment?

What's ahppening is their Current stats are garbage, but their base stats are quite real.

Known Unlocks, Progidies, and other Special Effects:
Progidies:
- (Hydra Progidy) 50 Willpower and 1 Prodigy Point and finding a very rare dialog option in the Clasp menu: Hat Trick - Allows the Hydra to clasp Necklaces and Headgear.
- (Drakeling Progidy) Inspecting or Picking up a Crown item (excluding crown of burning pain) while having 3 Drakelings (at least one with its "Ultimate" trait): Legacy: Crowns can be clasped normally, and at least one drakeling gets a special personality (possibly more effects or drakelings. I don't know)
- (Ritch Progidy) 50 Cunning and 1 Progidy Point and using the Killing Blade effect on a Bow (Plus special step listed at end of the Prodigies list): Death from Above - Allows you to craft bow Impermanence Weapons (Requires one metal item, one belt, one piece of jewelry, and a bow) using Death from Above and unlocks shoot talent.
----- Special Step for Ritch Prodigy: First attempt- Choices as such: Bowstring (Bow), (I don't know perfectly for this step. I used Improvise and a helmet), Jewelry, and a belt.
Unlocks:
- Winning the Game as an Avatar: Therian- Class for non-summons that has hydra, drakeling, and mantis skills.
- Corrupting the Sandworm Queen's Heart and using it: Unlock the "Start as Blighted Form" option for Avatars (under Customize tab)(Only way to get original drakelings blighted). AND causes the current character to hit blight threshold (If they are blighted already, they get a bonus to blight skills (I don't remember by how much)).
- Start an Avatar Game: rexorcorum graphics under Customize tab.
Consume And Other effects:
- Corrupted Heart of The Sandworm Queen: Causes the current character to hit blight threshold (If they are blighted already, they get a bonus to blight skills (I don't remember by how much)).
- Chromatic Harness: ?
- Storm Fury: Gives you a Proud, Loving, Male "Storm Drake"-themed Drakeling whose preferred NC is "Rabbit's Foot" and "Elusiveness" (has VERY high Defense and Trap Evasion).
- Consuming Heart of The Sandworm Queen (Drakeling): Next Drakeling is Proud, Loving, Female Drakeling who starts with TL10 Growing Bones, TL5 Swallow, TL4 Quake, and TL2 Sand Breath. Also has 50/100 knowledge, some special text, and prefers to learn Savage Strength and Nature Hardened.
- Using Heart of The Sandworm Queen (Drakeling, possibly others): Gives Burrowing Beast generic tree (Locked).
- Tooth of the Mouth: Gives all Monstrosities a Physical Power boost of 10
- Fiery Choker: "Monstrosity: Dragon" (I don't know exactly what that is yet). The Fiery Choker is a one fourth drop from Fyrk, the Faeros guard at Charred Scar (Portal from Var'Eyal in Eruan), so this is an extremely rare find.
- Wyrmbreath (Drakeling): Next Drakeling is Kanros (Special Dialogue) Extra Skills: Fire Breath 2, Devouring Flame 5, Bellowing Roar 4. Also, has Aspiration (Anti-Death) 3, and feels divided towards you. May have bonus stats, I can't tell.
- Saving Melinda: Use blue option when talking to Melinda to get either a rank in Summoner's Bond (Listening to Summoner) or Summoner's Disparity (Ignoring Summoner)
- The Gaping Maw (Drakeling): Next Drakling is Tronos (Special Dialogue) Bonus Skills: Icy Skin 4, Ice Breath 2, and Ice Claw 5. Possibly other bonuses. Mine was blighted. Tronos may have bonus stats. Prefers to learn Nature Hardened and Savage Strength.
- Primal Infusion: Gain 5 Wild Power.
- Eye of the Wyrm (Drakeling): ...? It is labeled and has an inspect message, but no effects I can see.
- Eye of the Wyrm (Hydra): When "Clasped" by a Drool head, it gives Hydra an additional head, as well as TL2 of "Venomous Breath".
- Blood of Life (Consumed and Gluttonied): Instant revival upon next death.
- Swordbreaker (Ritch): When used as an Impermanence Weapon, grants +.1 to Metal Rending and +5 to Swordbreaker (possible minor glitches (I suddenly seem to have 7 out of 5 ranks in Swordbreaker)).
------emblempride's------
- Serpent's Glare (Hydra): Extra head (Or possibly an effect on a normal head) (25% Wild, 30% Wil, 30% Cun, 50% Dex) that does nature damage over a few turns, gain talent Spit Poison at lvl 2
- Crystal Focus (Hydra): Extra head (Or possibly an effect on a normal head) (25% Wild, 120% Wil, 240% Mag) that does arcane damage
- Prox's Lucky Halfling Foot: Gives all Monstrosities +Lck, dunno by how much, 5?
- Behemoth Hide: Can be worn as a cloak by all Monstrosities.
- Serpentine Cloak (Hydra): gives an extra +10 Wil, +5 Con (total 10), +20% Nature, +.10 Ego/Serpent
- Crystal Heart: On hit melee effect, 10 arcane damage

Things that are NOT usable of note:
Both Final Boss Drops of ToME.
Atamathon's Ruby Eye.
Goedalath Rock.
Dragon Helm of Kroltar.
Siding with the Assassin Lord as a ritch.
Shifting Boots.
Note: Say if you know any others.
Also a Note: Blighted Form does not start with the blighted talents unlocked (sad
)
Probably a last Note: Starting the Arena gets different drakes.
Nope: This list is now dead. You can find the new list on page 7.

So what's the deal with Drakelings? Their talents seem fixed and not responsive to their stats, but that could just be because their stats are fixed and unmoving (Base increases, Current does not). All they seem to get is non-scaling inherited fire claw damage if you go for a fire melee build (And since they cloak /you/ they don't even heal you w/ it, not that their heals scale)
Am I just supposed to be capping dissension and telling them to die? In principle this is my jam, since you're building up peons who's survival you care about, but I seem better rewarded by getting them murked and reraising them (Not that I've managed /that/ yet, so Id on't even know that it updates their stats)

Re: Odyssey of The Summoner: Spoiler and Discussion
New goal: Find the Fiery Choker!
Edit: Some of the Drakelings skills seem to be really powerful, although I don't know about scaling. You can get Drakelings to learn level 6 skills, and some of those skills from Idealists are good.
Editedit: Go Talent Level 6 Drakelings!
Hopefully the final Edit: Gravestones are fantastic sources of inspiration.

I mean, sure, but I don't /want/ to execute my kids just to (presumably) get stronger ones from rebirthing them.
As far as scaling, what seems to happen is they just get a flat thing. So a 21 HP dragon Breath, or similar. I'm cool with them being, like, not as good as mine, that's expected. But 21 HP, even given that it's a double strength heal, is pretty meh. Maybe it scales with stats, and the actual problem is their stats aren't scaling.
Maybe you could let us use Inspiration to respawn a kid? Without them getting murked, I mean.

Re: Odyssey of The Summoner: Spoiler and Discussion
The special talents in the Demolition tree for Drakelings are really good. Getting Idealists can get them it.
Edit: What is the fastest way to get the Fiery Choker...?
Edit Edit: You can not consume [Plot Item] infusions or runes, so they are useless.
Glad that the game works if you do the first three dungeons before you talk to the summoner. Now I see how you can be your own entity.
I feel like the Blighted Drake return from death is way weaker then the normal one for actual play, since they keep dying and returning to level 1.
Found a new consume effect!
Edit: I got Scale Release up to 90 damage. But using it means you get NO healing from fire. Don't use it.
Edit: What does saving Melinda actually get you? Edit: Nevermind. You get a rank in the Summoner's Bond or the Summoner's Disparity.

Re: Odyssey of The Summoner: Spoiler and Discussion
I found a bug. Upon killing the Master, two of my drakelings disappeared. Then I killed the orcs, it said I died, and I still only have one drakeling. I can't make anymore, because it says they're still alive, and it doesn't matter where I go, I only ever have one.

Go to The Summoner or Aeryn. Either or will work.

@nekarcos
I tried going to the summoner, it still didn't work. Moot now though, my PC shorted out and I forgot to enable steam cloud, so bye bye save file. Thank you though.
Edit: Also, how are you supposed to heal your dragons when they're unconscious? Nothing I do seems to work. Renewing flames does nothing, hitting them with fire does nothing, and they always die, which is getting annoying. Am I missing something?

Fire works for me. I wonder why your drakelings don't heal off of it?

I'll try, and see what happens.
Edit: Disabled all my other mods, and nothing, still would not heal from fire. Even without being unconscious, they still would not heal with anything I tried.
