Sher'Tul Fortress Take off?

Saw that piece of code in the source. So, pray tell, when would it be realized? What does it mean?

You need to find Cid, and he will fix the fortress so it can fly into orbit.

Sorry, but how exactly is El Cid going to "fix" the fortress? With a pile of corpses after he fights of the Saracen in the Reconquista?

I vaguely remember that at one time there was dialog about being able to make it flying, but the butler never told you what you had to do (there were a lot of unfinished quests at the time). My guess is that became the rod's location-alteration (so you could access it from both continents), but that's just a wild guess.

Every so often, the repository updates with new, inaccessible bits of code. Code for having the Fortress fly around and shoot lasers. Code for traversing the solar system in your Fortress. Strange, wondrous things, none of which are actually implemented in the game. Still, darkgod keeps dropping those hints, so I'm certain you'll see the Fortress fly sooner or later.

You think that's fun? Try mucking around in debug mode. There's a whole (empty) continent that hasn't been touched.

Don't actually muck around in debug mode, incidentally. You can launch your fortress and move around in it! And never leave!
