What is more difficult to win, Normal Roguelike or Nightmare Adventure?
Opinions?

Roguelike is harder to learn the mid to late game because you're punished for experimenting.Row wrote:What is more difficult to win, Normal Roguelike or Nightmare Adventure?

Nightmare is harder to win if you're not good at the early game, or if your early game is weak due to your class.
"Adventure" mode is also insurance against inattentive play. Is that one of your personal issues as a player? (It sure is for me.)

That is exactly the problem. I press quickly the arrow keys several times only to find my character dead before I knew what happened, just because of some unexpected rare lurking around the corner. Still I am not sure what is harder. Perhaps in Roguelike just more attention and extremely slow play is needed, but on Nightmare the bosses and rares are so much harder to deal with that even seven lives are not enough.Doctornull wrote: "Adventure" mode is also insurance against inattentive play. I'm pretty sure the best tactic against an enemy that grossly outclasses you is to leave and try again in a few levels.
One of these days, I think (or hope...) that I'll stop pressing an arrow to many at a bad time. It's killed me way too many times...
I'd personally recommend roguelike mode, simply for the experience it gives you. Namely the "value your character" aspect.
