Yeek and Subject Z

#1 Post by Omega Blue »

When you play a Yeek, you start on the island of Rel and head to Maj'Eyal. So is there any reasonable chance for yeek characters to overcome Subject Z, with the help of the Wayist, independent of item drops? By reasonable chance I mean about 50%, not 5%.

I think it really depends on your class (and it's very hard for anything to be independent of item drops - for instance, a good regen infusion makes a vast difference starting as a yeek).

Do bear in mind that you can always use a rod of recall and come back later - Subject Z won't wake up. until you see him.

At the very least Archmages and Necromancers have no difficulty at all in killing Z at 8th while also saving the wayist. controlled phase dooring the wayist to behind you and spamming beams/Freeze or a full petbomb manage it handily.

Did it with a summoner, no special item loot, though I might have had some +cun stuff, but nothing special in it. Doubt it made a difference. Not only did I clear it at either 8 or 9 (can't recall which), I did it without taking a SINGLE POINT of damage the whole fight. AND, Protected the wayist from taking a SINGLE POINT of damage. Z literally failed to hit either one of us. Turtle, dog, hydra, ritch... Distracted by the turtle, he literally failed to hit either of us... at all.

STILL proud of that.

Can't Yeeks can make it to the West without actually confronting Subject Z? Might be a little class/equipment dependent.

Thanks a ton for the archmage suggestion, by the way. My Mindslayers are officially go! If I had the slightest clue what all the buttons did, anyway...

Reaver is not a bad option either. You can bone-grab subject z & pull him away from his target.
