Back from the East...
...after winning the game and I'm not sure if this is a bug or something I've missed, so I'll go ahead and ask here if there's something I need to do to engage the Grand Corrupter quest. Elvala is as peaceable as can be and the Grand Corrupter persists in ignoring me in his usual spot in the Spellblaze area. As far as I can tell, he's perfectly happy lording it over the four or five minions wandering around and has no designs to cause any more trouble.

Unless I'm missing something...
- Have a certain number of "spell" skills - generally, skills running off the magic stat.
- Beat the Grand Corrupter to within an inch of his life.
- Agree to spare him.
- Flatten Zigur.
Admittedly, my information may be old/inaccurate.

I did those, so maybe things have changed. As far as I can tell, I've done everything I possibly can in terms of quests and exploration, short of entering the infinite dungeon.Sirrocco wrote:Unless I'm missing something...

Re: Back from the East...
You need to have 10 or more spells and have not started the "antimagic" quest, from what I can tell. Are you saying the Grand Corrupter is non-hostile? The only way I know that this can occur is if you already did the quest. Did you have any crashes, or do anything in debug mode?
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).
Re: Back from the East...
Thaaaaaat would be what I did -- finished the quest before I even did Dreadfall (alchemists really are ridiculously overpowered once you get your skill set right and some good elemental damage buffsbricks wrote:You need to have 10 or more spells and have not started the "antimagic" quest, from what I can tell. Sigh. All that work and now I have to do another character if I want to play the post-win quest set. And while I love Dead Hulk, my current Ghoul Berserker, I've never managed to get all the way to the Void gate room with a purely melee character. Especially not one with no healing/movement infusions and an innate lack of speed.
Re: Back from the East...
Congratulations on the win. What is the 'post-win quest set'? I don't think I've ever heard anything about this!

Once you return from the East, the Grand Corrupter (as found in the Mark of the Spellblaze and the antimagic quests) has taken over and there are entirely new bosses and challenges awaiting you. You'll get a message to that effect in the dialog after you win.
Re: Back from the East...
In light of this, btw, I do have another question -- since I've always found antimagic underwhelming, I rarely get it. But if I do with my Ghoul Berserker, would that affect the post-win quest line?
Re: Back from the East...
IIRC, Undead can't get antimagic.Hunter wrote:In light of this, btw, I do have another question -- since I've always found antimagic underwhelming, I rarely get it. But if I do with my Ghoul Berserker, would that affect the post-win quest line?
Re: Back from the East...
Now that you mention it, I don't recall seeing the town this time around. Oh well. I've started another, non-undead berserker, so I would still be interested in the answer to my original question.lukep wrote:IIRC, Undead can't get antimagic.Hunter wrote:In light of this, btw, I do have another question -- since I've always found antimagic underwhelming, I rarely get it.
