How do you beat Epoch?

Re: How do you beat Epoch?
Assuming I didn't over nerf TWs otherwise I can take a look at Epoch and tone him down too. He's probably a bit to hard for the current iteration of the class.
Re: How do you beat Epoch?
When I wrote that yesterday, I was still playing with b37.
I think at the moment, the encounter is almost a guaranteed death for those who are playing TW for the first time.
Daikara is one of "those places" like the Old Forest that you just go whenever you think you have the appropriate level and equipment for the creatures and boss normally found there because being a veteran, you'd think you already know what to expect from Daikara.
Facing something like the Epoch (times five) or a more powerful version of yourself waiting in ambush is completely outside your expectation. There goes the result of 5 hours of playing. Maybe if it were placed in the Rift so that it'd be more optional ? Also give the player a warning before they enter the Rift.

Re: How do you beat Epoch?
The whole encounter pretty much is optional. I understand what you're saying though, without heavy spoilers you'd have no idea of that and your first instinct is to fight your double.
Maybe a warning pop up when you first attack your double or some way of letting the player know (or at least strongly hinting) that the safest course of action is to just let him kill you would be good. I don't know exactly how this should be written and would appreciate any ideas you guys have on that. A message on an earlier level of the zone telling you that the timeline feels strange might be good too (a bit of foresight that something is going to be off on the next level).
As to the Epoch fight it's perfectly doable in b37. I realize it's kind of a 'newbie' trap but most people playing a TW will have gone through the Rift at least once which isn't something easy in itself and to those that cheated the unlock all I can say is sorry, the encounter wasn't designed for new players.
Still though, Epoch is balanced around b37 Wardens and in b38 might be a bit more difficult then intended (for the record, it's not meant to be an easy fight but as I said some way of hinting that it's not the easiest course of action would be good).

Re: How do you beat Epoch?
How about making it possible for player to escape from the encounter through Eidolon ?
Players lose a life sporadically and learn from their mistakes. But for this one, if you are unprepared then it is a game ending mistake, no matter how much life you have saved.
