b34 Necromancer tips

#1 Post by Tom »

Hello

Trying to play a summoning Necromancer.
Sometimes I run short of minions.
I think maybe it was stupid to kill off those honey trees in Old Forest.
They could provide me with killer bee corpses for my talents.
Any other suggestion where to get 'free' unlimited corpses?

or you could just not use minions, I found the minionless necro to be much more powerful

I currently have a level 50 necromancer who uses minions

Get Curse of the Meek and kill your bunnies. You're guaranteed to get a soul, if you kill them. Use Chill Of The Tomb on them to get several souls at once. And get an item with evocable Metaflow to reset the talents.

Pls explain.

Ok. I might try that next time I play a Necromancer.
Still, I used to play DiabloII and in that game a summoning Necro was by far the most powerful way to go in the latest version, so that is what I went for.
The problems I experienced in D2 also comes here.
Typically thin corridors is a mess. Only one minion can fight and will die fast.
Or they get lost. My Bone Giants got lost in the Maze after just a few turns.
But in open space they are a lot better.

Tried to fight encounters for corpses, and it worked fine vs a few of them, but some fights I just had to teleport and flee.

I checked your man and I see, Curse of the Meek is in a tree I do not think I opened up yet.
Thx for the tip, both Hammer and edge!

It'd be nice if there was a small basal level of souls available when activating Necrotic Aura. Say, as many as 3 when you've maxed Aura Mastery, or find a way to work it into Dark Empathy so the talent is more appealing at lower character levels. Curse of the Meek would still be a much more practical means of gathering souls when you run low in a fight.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).

Curse of the Meek.

It would absolutely be impossible for my playing style to continue without Curse of the Meek,
unless there was another way to collect souls.
Around lvl 20 I always ambush wilderness parties walking the west for the alchemist tasks.
Very dangerous, but very intresting and fun.
And the reward is huge.
Getting theese rewards before Dreadfell would otherwise often be impossible.

A small challenge in the middle of the game that spices up my experience considerably.
Hats off!!

By now you probably found out that you cannot turn them all in at once :3. Damn, tough luck.

Yeah, if you want to hunt ingredients the best thing to do is hunt one potion type at a time.
