Are ingredients somehow connected?

#1 Post by Tom »

Hello!

Or is it just bad luck?

My own preferences are FOCUS, FOUNDATIONS, FOX in that order for my rogue.

I never turn in anything before FOCUS to risk it lost.
Now the last games, every time they took FOUNDATIONS for me when I went to the hermit for FOCUS.
Is this a pure coincidence and bad luck, or is it more than pure randomness to it?

I have also noticed that Marus of Elvala often or always needs the easy parts, and has the crappiest, at least for me, exilir.
FOCUS always have some nasty parts meaning you have to wait, or as I do, kill wilderness patrols.

Anyone have any experience in this area to tell?

Brrr.
Grrr.
How stupid can one be??

I changed the order or caves.
And change means that you some times screw up.
I just did.
Before I always did Trollmire first. Including Bill. Then up to Derth to sell, catch the alchemist task, and do the arena quest.

Now I wait with Trollmire 2-3 to increase my chances to save the escorts later on.

But that means I do not return to Derth for a while.
Meaning I forgot to do the arena task. :( *duh*

When I came there to do it a bit later, the guy was killed of course.
So this game I missed 4 generic points.
Not good. Not good at all.

This post was very OffTopic. Sry for that.

Without code-peeking, I *think* the ingredients are completely random(except that you can't be asked for the same ingredient twice of course).
And some are WAY easier to get. For example, if you are asked for a ritch stinger, I don't think you can get that at all pre-east without scumming adventurers(which is very dangerous).
While others are trivial/basically guaranteed(bear paws, squid ink, honeyroot tree, skeleton mage skull...).

I think it would be nice if the ingredients were selected from a level-based list based on which elixir you're currently working on(so the 1st elixir has low level ingredients, the 2nd mid, the 3rd high...) but that belongs in the idea forums.

It is dangerous.
But if you take the time and look for a good set up of infusions and EQ it is not so dangerous anymore.
At least not for some characters at the right lvl.
