Heh, I just realized that the two high-level rogues I linked, Ratridevi and Th'vee invested a total of 4 points in Combat Accuracy combined. Like edge2054's Jellybean, they both picked up a lot of accuracy from gear. I guess my money isn't where my mouth is, as the saying goes. My point, though, is that Knife Mastery exhibits diminishing returns, and I would rather have +6 accuracy than +3% Knife damage. In other words, I'd rather do a 4800 damage attack that hits more often than a 5000 damage attack that misses more often Additionally, higher accuracy increases the chances that stunning from Dual Strikes and Dirty Fighting will succeed against enemies' physical saves.
Agreed on all counts. Generally I don't invest that heavily in weapon masteries but I got addicted to seeing bigger and bigger numbers Also I was playing a Cornac so had plenty of generics to go around.
I have continously scummed the adventurer parties when I am around lvl 18-20.
They drop good stuff, even if almost everything goes into the chest.
They give some XP.
And, which is of course the reason I take the risk, they drop alchemist ingredients that would else be impossible to obtain at this stage of the game.
They do not drop the ingredients often.
I am not sure if the drop is completely random, or if there is a check if you got something lately.
One time I attacked sereral parties without a drop, but as soon I did lvl up, the next party dropped which made me belive that perhaps 1 drop per lvl.
Might be complete BS as I have not made any statistics.
Now, what am I sure about?
Stealth(5) owns theese adv parties!!
With stealth and a Movement Infusion, a good Regeneration Infusion I feel invincible.
Preferably Rush too, via boots in my case, as I never open up that talent tree.
I never die. I often see one opponent one square away.
Pop the regeneration infusion, he moves close, and that is that.
Next guy I approach with Rush or Movement, and as soon I hit them, they die.
I died yesterday.
Forgot to put on Stealth which I turned off in the maze to have better light.
When I came back from The Maze and went to the sandcave, a party attacked me around the corner and that was death.
Even 2 times as Blood of Life was there too.
So have fun and join the party at this stage of the game.
Just be sure to sneak and have movement infusion (perhaps two of them).
At that lvl 18-20, there are few, if any, bad ass spellcasters that kick your ass before you get your daggers on them.
Tom
EDIT: As soon I wrote this post I realised I had just reached lvl 19 on the last party before I wrote the post.
Next party dropped a storm wyrm claw.
Coincidence?
