Armours of Depth

#1 Post by Tom »

Somehow I think to many of theese, as seems to be the case in the current versions, takes away the skill of reaching the fortress with no water breathing skill.
This is actually not that hard and a lot of fun too.

A better way IMO would be to increase those depth armours later in the game when you REALLY need them.

Or make them give + air capacity instead of water breathing.

I'm gonna go and disagree here, if only because A) It aint that hard to move from air bubble to air bubble without water breathing, and B) before b29, running into something that gives water breathing before you ran into the flooded cave was a bit of a gamble, and there are no air bubbles there.
Having satellite internet is a lot like relying on the processes described in those RFC's for your internet. Except, instead of needing to worry about statues interrupting your connection, this time you worry about the weather. I have satellite internet. Fun, no?

A) I still belive it is an achievement, albeit a small one, to do it without aid.

B) Yes, one could increase the drop rate later in the game OR perhaps have special shop (or merchant) with one of those caps/armours over there.
I also think the game is winnable without entering the flooded cave, no?

The air bubbles are there for a reason I think, and I like it.
First time I tried it myself without aid, I thought the air pockets were unlimited.
Now that was a real achievement as I did not have vision either.

Hmm. Im down there now without aid (no depth armour) and I can assure you that this is not longer so easy at all.

Er... are you perchance playing with b29? B29 has a bug that makes the air bubbles expire too early.

He. Yes, I am.
I thought it was a new cool feature. :D

No problems with the bubbles that expired immidiately.
I had a good vision and Vargh on my finger so I found the stairs pretty easy.

The increased chance to drop for water breathing items is nice, but it could be a tiny bit less.
Since I am playing yeek summoners with 200 breathing capacity, I don't really care much anymore :P.
