Infravision and heightened senses stack, so with the two together you'll have a much higher infravision range.

If it is, they should have the same name.
To use two different names for the same thing is confusing.

I wrote before that infravision is something different than here in ToME.

So you are saying that you want everything to either say " You have Heightened Senses +x " or " You have Infravision +x " ?

No, that sounds pretty silly. :)
Best would be if one of the expressions would disappear or that they are easilly understood to be the same kind of skill.
Call both skills infravision for example, or even better Darkvision.

http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Infravision
Infravision was a type of vision that many non-human species had, in addition to "normal sight", in Dungeons & Dragons and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons prior to version 3.0 of the game. In 3.0 and later, the ability was removed from the game and replaced with darkvision. The primary reason for the change was that, given it's name, infravision implied that the creature detected the infrared spectrum of light and this caused a variety of problems.

I could have sworn the tooltip on Heightened Senses says that it grants infravision. Was I imagining that?

ToME4's effect is much more like infravision, since it only sees enemies (with some up close real sight).

Not sure what you mean but the description is:

You notice the small things others do not see, allowing you to 'see' creatures in a 6 radius even outside light radius.
This is not telepathy though, and is still limited by line of sight.
