#1 Post by kyuubee »

how many bottles of blood of life can be found per game? one only or more? does it work for skeletons and ghouls?

Only one Blood of Life should be generated, as it is a unique artifact. Sadly, it has no effect on Skeletons or Ghouls.

It's a unique artifact, so only one, and it won't work on undead.

Note, however, that skeletons get a racial skill that gets them an extra life if fully leveled.

Well, it's not like the Blood of Life is in any way guaranteed, so I don't think Ghouls suffer too much. Plus their Retch talent is possibly the greatest healing ability in the game (since it damages a lot of enemies at the same time). Also I think the Ring of Death still works on them.

i guess it's almost guaranteed though

>Also I think the Ring of Death still works on them.

is it the same thing as 'ring of the dead' or it's another ring?

Ring of the Dead, yeah.

And hell, what sort of luck are you having if you think the Blood of Life is almost guaranteed?

hm, i just clear every starting dungeon. maybe i was lucky though and it will be found quite rarer in future but it seems it's not just me, i looked in the character's vault, quite a few of 20+ roguelike non-winners died twice

>Ring of the Dead, yeah

heh, i have this ring but it's not mentioned in its description that it can save my life, +10 luck only

I find the blood of life in every game as well. Usually laying on the ground randomly or on a starter boss.

Yeah, it probably should be modified to show or hint that it can. As it stands, you gotta go through your Eidy deaths if you have any, and die again. Using the ring to resurrect destroys it, though. :/ Not sure if that part should be in the description.
Having satellite internet is a lot like relying on the processes described in those RFC's for your internet. Except, instead of needing to worry about statues interrupting your connection, this time you worry about the weather. I have satellite internet. Fun, no?

Re: Ring of Death -
In all honesty, I think it's meant to be a 'surprise'. I like it how it is.

Perhaps it's too much of a surprise? If you're spoiled you're bound to wear it, if you're not spoiled you wouldn't bother and you'll never find out its true use. I'm not sure if we should so directly encourage spoiling to get ahead in the game :) At the very least its description should hint at its effect more heavily.

"This ring is imbued with powers from beyond the grave. It is said that those who wear it may find a new path when all other roads turn dim."

Or maybe a hint that only shows when you put it on. Maybe something like, "you feel the crushing weight of your mortality."
