some help with cursed class
im a dwarf, i feel its the perfect for the class bonus to str, will, con. i cant get out of the 1st dungeon on adventure, ive tried and tried, i dont THINK im stupid but im doing something wrong, im pouring ALL of my stat points into CON and my talent pts are going into armor and gloom. JUST TO SURVIVE THE 1st dungeon. im not talking long term plan here, i just WANT TO GE OUT OF THE DUNGEON ALIVE. can SOMEONE tell me what i can do? im going this route with stat/talent pts cause if i dont the orcs half shot me, and ive yet to beat the boss and you can imagine he does more damage then the orcs. so my idea is to pump everything into surviving, so all the HP i can get and pts in armor so i can wear what i can find. i think there might be something else i could do but i cant think of anything, perhaps pts in unnatural body? thatd help but not with the boss unless im killing something to get my hp up. i let the team mate they give me at the beginning get 1st whack so the boss focus on him. but i keep trying and im UNABLE to survive! can someone please help me figure out what im doing wrong?
Re: some help with cursed class
Cursed have a tough start... I'd recommend investing heavily in Willpower and Strength at the start, and maxing your Gloom and Combat Accuracy. Make good use of hit and run tactics, letting your good abilities come off cooldown before assaulting the enemy again. Use Norgan as a dwarven shield as much as possible, whilst sticking in Gloom range to disable the enemy (high Willpower helps the Gloom be more effective).

yeah.. your telling me they do! ug 40 minutes and couldn't get out of the 1st dungeon they start you in! ima give the stat/talent distributions you suggested a try thou. thinking 2 will 1 str? or mix it up back and fourth perhaps. ill try both cause i know im going to die. THANKS again for the tips. i really want to make this work.
Re: some help with cursed class
Cursed have ridiculous hard starts... I'd say pump Strength, Dominate and Combat accuracy and hope you get a bit lucky.
Re: some help with cursed class
Having started a half dozen dwarven cursed I can concur that they have a very hard start. I pumped will and strength while putting points into gloom as well and unnatural body. A lot of it comes down to getting luck with the layout. Also make sure to retreat if you can't win. And remember you can control Norgan like a party member. I believe it is crtl+2 or crtl+f2, I usually set his leash to 5 tiles so he doesn't rush off to his death.
Just keep trying and play cautiously.

Re: some help with cursed class
i just give up. this is to hard. when what im dreading more from dieing is having to try OVER AND OVER AND OVER the whole 1st dungeon, rather then when you die having to start all over THERES SOMETHING WRONG. this class NEEDS some surviveablity at the 1st 3-4 lvls. after that i can handle it with smart playing. kiteing, proper stat/talent placement, but at the start its just to difficult to survive. i give up.

Re: some help with cursed class
A small suggestion - try a cornac or higher instead of a dwarf. They don't have a [slightly harder] racial starting dungeon. No, instead they start in the mire. And, a cornac rewards you with that ever so important category point that you can use to either immediately get a 4th inscription slot [say, 2 regeneration infusions?], or to increase/open a skill tree. A higher's racial abilities also run from willpower [the first one atleast], and gives +1 to almost every stat. All this coupled togeather might allow you to get a bit further with a cursed so you will have a better and longer experience with them. :)

Re: some help with cursed class
Higher is especially good early on, as the healing ability lets you keep charging into battle with your Hate held high. However I'd recommend starting in Norgos' woods rather than the Trollmire for a slightly easier start.
Re: some help with cursed class
The real issue for a dwarf cursed is that norgan actually kills most creatures and your hate drops. If really wqnt to go cursed dwarf, tell norgan to stay put (make him follow himself)
And go adventuring on your own, just run back when you run into trouble. Archers is a problem though.

he always can start as a higher/cornac and go to nogros' lair then instead of clearing trollmire which can be cleared later :3Grey wrote:Higher is especially good early on, as the healing ability lets you keep charging into battle with your Hate held high. Yeah, that's what I meant :)
Re: some help with cursed class
Thalore Cursed is actually a good combo, too -- and you can choose your starting dungeon. Dwarf Cursed is excellent in the later game when you start getting free saves from the passive greed skill and gold, but difficult to start.
