Hi,
Just wondering, is spellpower any use to the Doomed abilities?
i.e. Does a staff of good spellpower/spell-crit help me?
All the abilities feel like spells, but then again I was eligable for the anti magic quest. So not sure.

Most of them don't. The shadow abilities might, now that they're classified as spells for the purposes of antimagic (but their other abilities still aren't).

OK, so staves are pretty much useless to me then? I'd be better off with a one handed weapon (for the stats/resistances) and a good shield right? All I do is feed and let them hit me while I cast my "not-spells".
Wish I could wield two shields

Re: [b19] Spellpower and Doomed
Spellpower doesn't affect Doomed so any weapon/shield will work. The only way to increase the effectiveness of the talents is stated in the talent description (Magic or Willpower) and by gaining levels. It might make sense to switch to use spellpower so doomed has a weapon to look for.

Generally any talent that says it scales with Magic actually scales with spellpower.

Wait, does this mean that it's worthwhile for archmages to put points into Arcane Power ?!Grey wrote:Generally any talent that says it scales with Magic actually scales with spellpower.
If yes, the game's description could be more explicit.

Re: [b19] Spellpower and Doomed
... why would you have a point in a talent that would be completely useless to you at birth?
Yes, you Arcane Power increases your Arcane Power [aka Spellpower] - and Spellpower - NOT magic [in most cases] effects your spells [though magic directly effects spellpower so... you raise magic for a lowered %increase to spellpower than if you just raised spellpower directly].
