Infinite Dungeon Unlock?

#1 Post by Aoi »

So I finished off the place with the 6-orb puzzle and got the note, and popup, that says that the ID was unlocked, but I didn't find any way to actually do it on a new character.

I DID do it on an Easy character, so do you have to unlock the ID on a Normal? It seems kind of odd that's how it'd work, since all the other unlockables [classes] worked...

Strange, I did the puzzle and was able to create a new character in the Infinite dungeon.

I lost the unlock sometime ago, but now I redid the dungeon on another toon and it's working properly. I think something got changed which invalidated old unlocks.

Odd, since the character that did the unlock is from 15b. I just fired up a backup save I made after finishing the high peaks to do the dungeon again and the unlock still didn't stick.

...On the other hand, maybe I'm just crushingly stupid and I'm just not seeing where the option to go into ID mode is.

It's considered a "campaign". If you have it unlocked, then you get an additional dialog at character birth, asking you to choose a campaign -- Maj'Eyal, or the Infinite Dungeon.

If it's not unlocked, then you are never given that dialog.

You mean it shows up as a module?

So I was experimenting with stuff, backing up the T-Engine folder and I noticed the oddness going up a notch: Every time I load my save in the ruined dungeon, I can walk onto the last note and get the message saying the ID was unlocked.

Sooo.... at this point, I'm just going to pretend it's something you can't play on Easy to unlock and work towards opening it on Normal.

No, it's not a separate module. It's a new question you get during birth, like Race or Class.

Okay, resurrecting this thread for a really dumb question. Just thought I finished the ruined dungeon. Found and solved 3 clues. But ... Now what? Can't get in through the white door still. What am I missing?

The "northern" room has a sign or something that will do the unlocking when you read it.

If I remember correctly you only get three clues, but you have to touch all six orbs. The "..." in the clues is a hint that the clues were once joined together, and that some of the clues have been permanently lost. You should have a vague idea of what order you have to touch the orbs based on the partial clues, though.

Each lore-clue corresponds to more than one orb. Read them quite carefully.

Thanks all, got it. Not much into puzzles myself, so appreciated. Now I have the answer saved in a Word document :). (Would put it on the wiki for others like me, but I don't know how to make wiki do tables.)

I thought I had been nice with this one, seemed obvious to me :)
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD
