Oh, it is ON!
I guess if you were to have collaborators, you'd have to split the money, huh?

I'm torn! I want to release a sample module and copy of T-Engine with the Lua console installed and flushing to the log. But I also want to win this contest.
So would development of Hellfire be right out for this contest?

Not sure if what I'm making will qualify for the contest.... but I'm making something....

I'll be participating. I think I'll be making a sci-fi module.

Here is an unbranded copy of the T-Engine.
To brand it with your own files, replace:
\game\modules\boot\data\gfx\background\module.png
\game\modules\boot\data\gfx\background\module-logo.png
for the new game screen, and:
\game\engines\default\data\gfx\background\tome.png
\game\engines\default\data\gfx\background\tome-logo.png
For the loading screen.

I'm in! Brainstorming is finally forming into a somewhat coherent set of ideas that may be unique and hopefully fun.

Here's a better example module:
https://sites.google.com/site/darrenjoh ... ule1.0.zip
It's a cut down version of - This Jam, with tiles, sound, health bars, a playerdisplay and a bunch of other stuff enabled. It's turn-based but it's easy to change to real-time for anyone who wants to. It has a streamlined combat system that's obvious enough to alter. It has some enemy AI that's a little fiddly but shows some interesting ways to do enemies. It has player FOV disabled and the whole map made visible, but this is easy to change back. Overall it's a much better starting point than the example module, especially for anyone making quick games.

Thanks Grey, perhaps for the next version it should be the official example module. As that has not at all been a focus of DG, but you've done some thinking as to what should be in example module.
Re: T-Engine4 modules contest is open! Join in!
I think it could do with a lot more polish and some extra features thrown in to be a good example module, but it's better than what's there I believe ;)

I am in with Underdark.
We're nearly done porting the basic d20/D&D 3.x rules and more content will come when I'm back in 3 weeks!

I guess just a few weeks to declare now (deadline 1st August). Not sure which game I should put forward...

I should announce my entry now, because I know I'll forget if I put it off
I'm making something that I haven't named yet, but it has a Shiren-inspired aesthetic and a heavy emphasis on resource management. I'm shooting for something like 1-2 hours for a successful run, but substantial variation between runs to maximize replayability.
