Currently, the maths for Forcefield mean it lasts 5 turns, no matter how high the value of psi.
say you have 1,000 psi, you will lose:
turn 1: 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300
cumulatively, thats 50 ,150, 300, 500, 750, 1050
doesn't matter what the value of psi is.
So can I suggest it is changed to duration 5,5,6,6,7
Or, keep at five and change CD from 40, 35, 30, 25, 20
Something like that...

Re: Forcefield: change scaling
You can still regen psi during that time though with something like Matter is Energy, so you can boost the duration somewhat. Having some way of reducing the drain would be really helpful though - maybe tie it to activating a transcendent talent?
Re: Forcefield: change scaling
I actually designed the talent
and my intent was exactly what The Tapir is saying. The idea is you use Psi Tap, Leech talents, Matter is Energy, etc to keep your psi up extending the duration beyond 5 turns.
Edit: Do you guys really think it needs a buff at all? It feels plenty strong to me but its cooldown may be a bit limiting so if anything should be buffed I think that would be it.

Re: Forcefield: change scaling
you can't regain psi fast enough to do much more than extend it by one turn

Re: Forcefield: change scaling
The intent was for it to be a super shield with a short duration and high cost. But it might be worth reviewing the cost/cooldown/strength of the talent. It shouldn't require investment in other talents to be functional. That was one of the main things being addressed by the rework.

Re: Forcefield: change scaling
You can extend it by 5-10 turns without much problem. If you can't regain enough psi then decrease your max psi to compensate (sustains, no +psi skills items etc)jenx wrote:you can't regain psi fast enough to do much more than extend it by one turn
