Every time I see the map in WebTiles Crawl it's just so neat looking.
It would be nice if ToME's map showed where the doors are, and whether they are open, and the vault doors too in a different color.
Also, I think when the map is open, clicking the map should calculate where on the map you clicked and treat it as a click in the corresponding spot in the dungeon. Pretty sure that now it treats it as a click in the spot underneath the map, which is not the same at all.
Map could be improved by showing doors, closed and open

Re: Map could be improved by showing doors, closed and open
i am pretty sure (at least for me) clicking a point in the map tells my little adventurer to go to the corresponding spot in the dungeon.
but while we are at it, how about marking indestructible terrain as well?

It sure doesn't tell the little adventurer to go to the corresponding spot on my setup. Moving the mouse pointer on the map does move the underneath dungeon to that spot. But clicking the map tells the adventurer to go to the spot on the underneath dungeon the mouse is at, I think, not to the spot on the map the mouse is at.
The only way I can use the map to navigate to an unseen spot, is opening the map, moving the mouse to the spot which moves the dungeon focus to approximately that spot, closing the map, finding the right spot in the actual dungeon and clicking it. It's kinda tedious.

Try right-clicking on a desired spot.Maurog wrote:It sure doesn't tell the little adventurer to go to the corresponding spot on my setup. To clarify, all my posts except the one about doors referred to the big map you pull up with tab, not the minimap in the corner.
