Agent of the Arena

So my most recent Madness character, a Yeek Solipsist, was level 16 by the time he was capable of hitting the mainland.

...Yeah.

I don't get why Agent of the Arena disappears at a certain level. I get that you can't have an invulnerable plot character hanging around killing all the Gwelgoroths during the Storming the City quest, but why can't he be in a building? It's the only quest in the game that's limited by level, not counting the ones that pop up on the world map. Everyone who's played the game for a while has had the experience of forgetting that quest and having to restart, not to mention that it's a huge newbie trap because they might not even get to Derth by level 14.

yeah you can get the arena quest as a yeek by using the wand of recall as soon as you move through the tunnel in order to skip the entire dungeon.
this doesn't really answer your concerns but its a useful tip.

I get that two free generics are awesome, but... That's a pretty extreme reaction.

I was on Madness difficulty. I had hit level 16 before I even entered that dungeon.

Ummm, you can't. The Way won't let you through the tunnel until you've done both dungeons.

Did noone else notice? The most amazing thing here is someone actually managed to get a Yeek out of the island on madness difficulty. How in Sh'Eyal can one achieve that I still have no idea...

And you have just successfully scared the shit out of me. I died several times in NORMAL MODE trying those starter dungeons.
