Change/Replacement for Absorb Life

#1 Post by RedBucket »

The third talent in the Corruption / Sanguisuge tree. All it does it replenish vim (badly) on kills and have an annoying upkeep cost. So my proposal is to make it replenish vim better (X% of all damage you do is replenished as vim) and make the upkeep cost have a benefit (each point of vim is converted to X life instead of lost). Additionally, the vim-to-life conversion would rapidly accelerate the longer you keep it sustained.

I like this idea. I don't know about the acceleration thing as I'm not a big fan of sustains I have to mess with a lot.

But otherwise it sounds really good to me. It's a talent that really could use the help.

I dislike the sustain cost. IMHO there's two ways to go with this:

1/ Make it a pure Vim gamble: a timed effect which costs Vim to start, and then might give you back more than the starting cost if you use it well.

2/ Make it a sustain which costs something other than Vim but gives you more Vim when you kill. What else could it cost?
- Healing Factor. -50% healing factor maybe.
- Accuracy & Defense. Not that big a deal most of the time.
- Vulnerability. -20% resist cap for everything, -10% damage resistance for everything.
- Cooldowns. +1 to all active talent cooldowns while sustained.
Check out my addons: Nullpack (classes), Null Tweaks (items & talents), and New Gems fork.
