Zigur Betrayal Dialog

#1 Post by overgoat »

It feels a little strange when you betray an escort to Zigur and they say, "Thanks!"

Could we have some more colorful dialog that makes you feel halfway guilty?

Maybe something like:

As Bob the Sun Paladin limps towards the portal he hesitates a moment and says, "Wait, this doesn't look right..." As he starts to step away you shove him hard in the back and through the portal. Before the portal closes you catch a quick image of the Zigur guards surrounding Bob and hear his pitiful screams for mercy that you know will not come.

For betraying Bob to certain death the elders of Zigur offer you training in one of the following:

"I was going to kill myself by just wandering through this dungeon alone with little to no survival skills to speak of, but you saved me the trouble by sabotaging this portal and sending me to Zigur. Now I get to be burned at the stake or torn limb-from-limb by a crowd of bloodthirsty fanatics. Thanks!"

You're welcome. Thanks for the Dream Walk, future self.

"Thanks!" makes me feel more guilty than either of those, to be honest.

He just thanked you for torturing and killing him, and doesn't know it yet. :|

Perhaps alternative dialog could include: "As the portal closes you hear a gasp of surprise, followed swiftly by a piercing scream."
Anyone have better ideas?

The dialog already says something about you sabotaging the portal. The trouble is that, after you get your reward, the dialog still reads "There you go. Farewell!", which doesn't make sense if "Nature" is the one rewarding you.

I agree, this makes sense. Maybe omitting the "There you go, farewell." message is best.
